This is one of the best Cd’s Rock - Various Artists has dropped to date. While no new Rock - Various Artists album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1995 tour in North America. Rock - Various Artists was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Rock - Various Artists and Old School Punk together. Great Rock: Punk-Rock right here!
Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. I like the idea behind I Don’t Care About You (Fear). In Richie Dagger’s Crime (Germs) the music gets its power. Code Blue (T.S.O.L.) is absolutely incredible. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. Bloodstains (Agent Orange) very upbeat. This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. Institutionalized (Suicidial Tendencies) - For me, this is the best of the album. Ha Ha Ha (Flipper) - Check out that bassline! The opening track I Got A Gun (Channel 3) is very much like you would expect from other albums. Within the first few notes of Clorox Girls (Redd Kross) it’s perfectly clear that Rock - Various Artists is living this song. Los Angeles (X) is a medium tempo tune. Get Old School Punk and turn on Out Of Vogue (Middle Class) if you are going to sip your wine late at night.
