On Raincolors album, Rob Essers have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Rob Essers on ‘The Ability To Dream’. Self-described as Ambient with lots of words, Rob Essers comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. This album is awesome.
Once A Walk Through… gets in your head, it will NEVER leave. Although Truceless is very melodic it is far from sad. The sound in Sparkles is really warm and Rob Essers’s signature voice is still very much present. It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. Music of Luscious Feelings is gentle, never overbearing. Monochromatic (3:59) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. Colors Of Rain is another favourite of mine. Loosing Chains is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. Rob Essers allows each song to breathe and flourish. The Trivial Round Of Life is the more seemingly obscure song on Raincolors that bear up best to repeated listening.
