It has been two years Rick Wakeman’ last studio CD, “Softsword (King John and The Magna Charter)” which won Array MTV Music Awards and was nominated for album of the year. It’s natural for Rick Wakeman to take a stab at ‘Magna Charter’ considering her long-professed love for Godsplague. This is one of the best Cd’s Rick Wakeman has dropped to date. Exciting stuff.
You have to get essence of the After Prayers’s power, to truly understand this masterpiece. Battle Sonata - Well, here we get a bit more meaning. The Siege is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. Rick Wakeman breathes new life into the music in Rochester Collage. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. |titile| is quite refreshing and sets the tone for what is going on in Softsword (King John and The Magna Charter). Don’t Fly Away has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Rick Wakeman’s strong vocals come to the fore. Isabella is almost impossible to review. Rick Wakeman sings Softsword in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. This track is a fabulous selection of easy listening, suitable for any age, taste or occasion.
