IF YOU LIKE ALL Richie Kotzen’S SONG GO FOR IT! Lead single “Socialite” and “Mother Head’s Family Reunion” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. There is no doubt that Richie Kotzen has talent. This album is in perfect progression from Richie Kotzen!
The sound of Mother Head’s Family Reunion is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. Where Did Our Love Go defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. This is probably my favorite song on the album. Soul To Soul - Check out that bassline! Reach Out I’ll Be There is simple, dignified and effective, Richie Kotzen refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. Testify is perfect. When listening to Used, it gives me such an energy rush it’s unbelievable. A Woman and A Man - This happy song is an ode to optimism and an anthem. In Livin’ Easy the music gets its power. Cover Me is a fine track on any terms.
