It has been five years Richard Searles’ last studio CD, “Celtic Cross” which won Array Grammy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. There were many famous songs of Richard Searles available. Richard Searles’s debut, ‘Celtic Cross’, does not fit easily into one genre. To me Richard Searles is the best band ever.
I love the melodic melody of A Thousand Curses On Love and to this day it makes me feel good. Wet Is The Night is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. Excellent vocals and musical performances. Overall a nice softer song. My Dark Haired Maid From Cornaig is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through Celtic Cross. Music of Rondes is gentle, never overbearing. Richard Searles allows each song to breathe and flourish. Laride A Huit Temps - A classic Richard Searles track. The White Houses Of Sheildaig - This is a very lively song. The Bedding Of The Bride is beautiful, yet underrated track. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Laride A Six Temps. It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. An Occasional Song is another favourite of mine. Galician Dance is a song to enjoy for years to come. Still going through Celtic Cross and coming to appreciate The Haggis more and more with every listen. Simple and heartfelt closing track No Surrender closes Celtic Cross on a high note. Tavern On The Moor is a cool song and it grows on you.
