Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Renaud on ‘Docteur Renaud, Mister Renard’. There were many famous songs of Renaud available. Now signed to Renaud’s Capitol Records, the title track from second album “Renaud chante Brassens CD4″ leads Renaud’s back-to-school campaign. I greatly enjoyed this CD.
It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. L’aquarium is possibly the best song Renaud has come up. Les Dimanches La Con is a very catchy tune. When I listen to Le Sirop De La Rue in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. Cheveu blanc is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside. Once you hear Mon nain de jardin, you will listen to it over and over. Mon paradis perdu inedit 2002 is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. Tout in haut de ch’terril - This happy song is an ode to optimism and an anthem. Ch’meneu d’quevaux has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Renaud’s strong vocals come to the fore. A fantastic track full of wonder. Only one song from Renaud chante Brassens CD4 named Le Tango Du Cachalot really got me. Adieu ch’ terril d’ rimbert has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. Simply the finest work ever from this multi-talented singer. M’lampiste is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. Y’in a qu’pour li is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. Les Molettes is a bit of a show-tune. I bot un d’mi is cool and different song. Put Du qu’i sont into car stereo for your highway driving
