Now signed to Rednex’s ForeFront Records, the title track from second album “Sex and Violins” leads Rednex’s back-to-school campaign. Rednex’s debut, ‘Sex and Violins’, does not fit easily into one genre. On Sex and Violins album, Rednex have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Sex and Violins is preety good and all the songs have a good meaning behind them.
Hittin’ The Hay is beautiful, yet underrated track. Riding Alone (3:28) - awsome. I was truly moved when I heard Wish You Were Here. Album opener Mary Lou is a bright, upbeat ditty. Old Pop In An Oak great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool.As always, Rednex’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. I like the idea behind The Sad But True Story Of Ray. Fat Sally Lee without a doubt is the standout song of Sex and Violins. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think Shooter is my favorite song on Sex and Violins. The opening track Mckenzie Brothers is very much like you would expect from other albums. Rednex sings Rolling Home in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. Blew our minds when we first heard Wild and Free.
