Since completing 1990’s ‘Dromska Dagar’, Ralph Lundsten fulfilled their contract with Mute Records and where under no obligation to release another album. Elderstrappan isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. There is no doubt that Ralph Lundsten has talent. Elderstrappan is the best essence of Ralph Lundsten.
Blew our minds when we first heard Jungfrugrottan. Tjusartango is one of these floating songs. |titile| is a sure sign of something most of us are experiencing, maturity. Livscirkus is a medium tempo tune. Excellent vocals and musical performances. Soldrommar stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. Hjortats Smultronstolle is pretty funky and mellow. Tidsporten is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. No Ralph Lundsten song has come close to capturing my attention as Sjolavandring did. Alpha Ralpha Ouvertyr - My least favorite song on this album. Alpha Ralpha Bouevard hits the heart. All of songs on Elderstrappan and have something to say letting alone Poem Of Love. I like Dream Star because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. Lovelight which is my favorite is a truly Ralph Lundsten sounding song. In Seventeen For Ever it becomes nowhere more obvious that Ralph Lundsten has yet to define own style. First time I heard Andromedian Nights was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing. This track is a killer, it just grabs you instantly.
