On the England charts, superstar Radio Futura’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. Thom Yorke has compared writing for Radio Futura’s new album to that on ‘Rarezas’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Radio Futura’s debut, ‘Rarezas’, does not fit easily into one genre. This is one of the best cd’s i have heard through the whole thing.
The opening track La Casa Del Amor is very much like you would expect from other albums. Cancion Del Gitano very upbeat. In Noche Del Fuego Radio Futura spins a tale you want to hear to the end. Bailando En El Espejo is possibly the most mysterious and inexplicable track Radio Futura ever produced. The Spy is a bit different from Radio Futura stereotypical stuff. Rarezas couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Amor En Frio. Chica Del Sur is, without a doubt, my favorite song, ever. En Un Baile De Perros is pretty funky and mellow. Oscuro Affaire without a doubt is the standout song of Rarezas. I can’t stop humming along Annabel Lee. No Radio Futura song has come close to capturing my attention as Ultima Ronda did. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Rarezas. La Vida En La Frontera 2 one of the best in my collection. Sitting On The Dock Of The Bay defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone.
