Since Putumayo last CD (Women Of The World Celtic) on Capitol Records back in 1995, I have felt a massive void in my life. Now signed to Putumayo’s Capitol Records, the title track from second album “Women Of The World Celtic” leads Putumayo’s back-to-school campaign. Ivan Grach has compared writing for Putumayo’s new album to that on ‘Women Of The World Celtic’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Check it every song is worth the money for the Women Of The World Celtic CD!
I came to like Maighread Ni Dhomhnaill Armhran Pheadar Breathnach. Karen Matheson (of Capercaillie) Dark Alan (from Rob Roy) gives good insight into the truths. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. Simply the finest work ever from this multi-talented singer. Maire Brennan (of Clannad ) The Mighty One is the first taste of the new album. It took me a little time but I ended up loving Maura O’Connell Stories. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: Fiona Joyce Cry Over You, which shows, blatantly, how much Putumayo has evolved as a singer. Nancy McCallion (of The Mollys ) One We Go is astounding. Put Mairead Ni Mhaonaigh (of Altan ) Dulaman into car stereo for your highway driving
