It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Public Enemy energies, virtually a rebirth. While no new Public Enemy album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1995 tour in North America. On It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back album, Public Enemy have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Public Enemy “It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back” is an amazing album.
Bring The Noise gives taste of what makes Public Enemy special as a musician. I’ve found myself listening to Don’t Believe The Hype back to back and back many times. I like to sing along with Cold Lampin’ With Flavor, though I mess up the lyrics sometimes. Terminator X To The Edge Of Panic - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. Mind Terrorist great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool. When I listen to Louder Than A Bomb in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. Musically Caught, Can We Get A Witness is superior to other tracks in It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back. Show ‘Em Whatcha Got is a perfect, simple song by Public Enemy at the top of his game. She Watch Channel Zero! is one of these floating songs. Night Of The Living Baseheads is a bit of a show-tune. Black Steel In The Hour Of Chaos - For me, this is the best of the album. Security Of The First World is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. Prophets Of Rage is the best music that I have heard from anyone in any area of music. Party For Your Right To Fight is worth the money.
