Mix Culture isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Lead single “Always On My Mind (prime Cut Remix)” and “Where The Streets Have No Name (hot Tracks Remix)” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Pet Shop Boys’s album Mix Culture falls to No. 2 with 387,000, a sales slide of 94%. This is one of Pet Shop Boys best albums
Where The Streets Have No Name (hot Tracks Remix) is the marvelous blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. Miserablism (hot Tracks Remix) is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. West End Girls (ultimix) I just LOVE this mix! When listening to Music For Boys (hot Tracks Remix), it gives me such an energy rush it’s unbelievable. Losing My Mind (hot Tracks Remix) was the first single release from the album Mix Culture. Voice and instruments in It’s A Sin (technopop Remix) complement each other. Was It Worth It (rhythm Stick Remix) is another favourite of mine. The sound in I Get Excited (razormaid Mix) is really warm and Pet Shop Boys’s signature voice is still very much present. Left To My Own Devices (razormaid Mix) is a medium tempo tune.
