There is no doubt that Pentangle has talent. This is one of the best Cd’s Pentangle has dropped to date. It has been thirteen years Pentangle’ last studio CD, “Early Classics” which won Array Emmy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. I wish that “Early Classics” album was instrumental.
Mirage is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. In Train Song you won’t find any flashy solos. I came to like In Time. A fantastic track full of wonder. Only one song from Early Classics named Lyke-Wake Dirge really got me. Vocals of Pentangle in A Woman Like You really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. Once I Had A Sweetheart one is one of the better boring ones. Springtime Promises is cool work of Pentangle. |titile| is a sure sign of something most of us are experiencing, maturity. Pentangling is probably one of Pentangle’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. Bruton Town defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. A great put together song. There is marvelous mix of music in House Carpenter.
