eleven years ago, Paul Simon briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Can’t Run But”. Jim Jones has compared writing for Paul Simon’s new album to that on ‘The Rhythm Of The Saints’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. The Rhythm Of The Saints carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. The Rhythm Of The Saints is not something you should pass up.
Can’t Run But pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. This is probably my favorite song on the album. Proof - A classic Paul Simon track. Further To Fly is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. She Moves On great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool.Born At The Right Time is probably the highlight of the album. The Cool, Cool River is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. The Rhythm Of The Saints couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Spirit Voices. The Rhythm Of The Saints is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through The Rhythm Of The Saints.
