Since Pat Travers last CD (Blues Tracks) on Blue Note Records back in 1992, I have felt a massive void in my life. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Pat Travers on ‘Memory Pain’. ‘Blues Tracks’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. This album is a scorcher!
Calling Card Blues without a doubt is the standout song of Blues Tracks. I Can’t Quit You is the most memorable and gorgeous. Statesboro Blues is a marvelous song and it grows on you. Pat Travers is one of artists that allow his songs like I’ve Got News For You to stand on their own and be heard. I Ain’t Superstitious as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. Built For Comfort is a fine track on any terms. Mystery Train - a classic song. Blew our minds when we first heard Just Got Paid. One listen to the sheer beauty of Sitting On Top Of The World was all I needed.
