There were many famous songs of Papa Wemba available. Le Voyageur is an amazing album, racked with beauty.’Le Voyageur’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. This is what good Ethnic should be.
The sound of Lingo Lingo is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. Le Voyageur rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. Papa Wemba must have run out of lyrics on the next track Ombela. The sound in Jamais Kolonga is really warm and Papa Wemba’s signature voice is still very much present. Matinda one of the best in my collection. Nice and different song. Madilamba is a strong cut, one of many. Zero still maintains something of a specific flourish.
