This twelve-song debut EP shows the promise that Otis Redding has. This is one of the best Cd’s Otis Redding has dropped to date. I Love The Soul Album from start to finish!
This is probably my favorite song on the album. Chain Gang gives good insight into the truths. Lyrics of Cigarettes and Coffee (Blues) are precise and evocative. Everybody Makes A Mistake is a very catchy tune. Good To Me is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. I was truly moved when I heard It’s Growing. First time I heard Just One More Day was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.Nobody Knows You When You’re Down and Out catches attention immediately, Scratch My Back - This one makes me want to not only sing along. Treat Her Right good vocals.
