I am not a real Retro music type of person, but i have to admit ‘The Immortal Otis Redding’ really is amazing. While no new Otis Redding album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1991 tour in South America. Mila Sparrow has compared writing for Otis Redding’s new album to that on ‘The Immortal Otis Redding’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Smart music for smart people.
A Waste Of Time is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside. Amen is perfect. Champagne And Wine is the more seemingly obscure song on The Immortal Otis Redding that bear up best to repeated listening. This track is nearly perfect if not perfect. I’ve Got Dreams To Remember is the albums biggest surprise. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. The Happy Song (Dum-Dum-De-De-De-Dum-Dum) is nothing but pure genius. This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. Thousand Miles Away - This is a very lively song. Still going through The Immortal Otis Redding and coming to appreciate You Make A Man Out Of Me more and more with every listen.
