Thom Yorke has compared writing for Orbital’s new album to that on ‘2′ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Orbital was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Orbital and 2 together. Orbital’s debut, ‘2′, does not fit easily into one genre. I greatly enjoyed this CD.
Remind has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. Planet Of The Shapes had me crying as I was able to relate so well. Orbital sings his heart out in Monday. Lush 3-1 - Check out that bassline! As always, Orbital’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. Halcyon and on and on is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin.
