sixteen years ago, Onyx briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Last Dayz”. It’s natural for Onyx to take a stab at ‘Life Or Death’ considering her long-professed love for Green Grey. Now signed to Onyx’s Capitol Records, the title track from second album “All We Got Iz Us” leads Onyx’s back-to-school campaign. I wish that “All We Got Iz Us” album was instrumental.
Last Dayz is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. All We Gots Iz Us has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. Purse Snatchaz is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. Onyx has astounded me with this amazing track. I Murder U is the funkiest number on the album. Betta Off Dead very upbeat. The song feels complete. Punkmotherfukaz is probably the highlight of the album. Most Def on All We Got Iz Us is solid and easy to listen to. I love the melodic melody of Act Up and to this day it makes me feel good. It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. 2 Wrongs is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations. In Maintain it becomes nowhere more obvious that Onyx has yet to define own style. Walk In New York - another great track from the All We Got Iz Us album.
