After debuting at No. 1 last week, Nirvana’s album Wulfrun Hall falls to No. 2 with 206,000, a sales slide of 65%. four years ago, Nirvana briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Spank Thru”. While no new Nirvana album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1991 tour in North America. I love this album so much, i’ve been crazy about Nirvana ever.
Spank Thru is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. Jesus Wants Me For A Sunbeam is the song that really did it for me. Once you hear Rape Me, you will listen to it over and over. Nirvana allows each song to breathe and flourish. When listening to Lounge Act, it gives me such an energy rush it’s unbelievable. A unique and uplifting song. The sound in Territorial Pissings is really warm and Nirvana’s signature voice is still very much present. Drain You is the most memorable and exquisite. This is one hell of a track. In Floyd The Barber it becomes nowhere more obvious that Nirvana has yet to define own style. Smells Like Teen Spirit is probably the most interesting track on Wulfrun Hall. Polly motivates you to get up and do something to improve your life and the life of others. Opening track Breed shows the best of Nirvana. All of songs on Wulfrun Hall and have something to say letting alone Sliver. Love Buzz is one of my favorite songs by Nirvana. Lithium gives taste of what makes Nirvana special as a musician. This track is just a stunning masterpiece. Been A Son has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. Some of the arrangements found on Wulfrun Hall are surprisingly edgy. On A Plain is really a nice song to relax and listen too. Something In The Way is a bit different from Nirvana stereotypical stuff. Blew as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. Charming song, great melody.
