Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Nico on ‘Ari’s Song’. Lead single “Ari’s Song” and “Evening Of Light” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. When you buy a Nico album, you know exactly what you’re getting! This is what good Experimental should be.
Evening Of Light is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything Nico released so far. It’s a great pleasure to listen to Facing The Wind from the beginning to the end. Frozen Warnings is one of the more up-tempo songs on The Marble Index. I have all of Nico’s tracks and Julius Caesar (Memento Hodie) is probably the most his introspective effort. Lawns Of Dawns make listening to Nico like being in some sort of time warp. Listening to Nibelungen you can hear that Nico has still amazing chemistry with band members. No One Is There is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. Prelude marked the continuation of Nico in style evolution. Roses In The Snow as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature.
