Since completing 1993’s ‘John Campbell’s’, Natalie MacMaster fulfilled their contract with EMI Records and where under no obligation to release another album. While no new Natalie MacMaster album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1993 tour in Australia. Fit As A Fiddle carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. Fit As A Fiddle is preety good and all the songs have a good meaning behind them.
My Dungannon Sweetheart is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. Carnival March is the albums biggest surprise. It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. Compliments To Sean Maguire which is my favorite is a truly Natalie MacMaster sounding song. 1997 makes a person feel perfect. I now have Jean’s Reel as one of my personal favorites. I’ll Always Remember You as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. This track is a killer, it just grabs you instantly. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is The Rakes Of Kildare. The Lass Of Carrie Mills is probably one of Natalie MacMaster’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. If Ever You Were Mine is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. Voice of Natalie MacMaster in The MacNeils Of Udadale is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant.
