I am not a real Classical music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Songs and Airs’ really is amazing. Nancy Argenta (soprano) had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. There is so much to love about Nancy Argenta (soprano), starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. Lots of variety between tracks. My favorite is Ah! how sweet it is to love

Cupid, the slyest rogue alive is simple, dignified and effective, Nancy Argenta (soprano) refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. The sound of From silent shades is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. Dear pretty youth is worth the money. Music in From rosy bow’rs is excellent as in all tracks of Songs and Airs. Now that the sun hath veil’d his light is the albums biggest surprise. Nancy Argenta (soprano) emotions are reflected through Beneath a poplar’s shadow. I attempt from love’s sickness to fly is simply marvelous. In the black, dismal dungeon of despair is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. Put See, even Night herself is here into car stereo for your highway driving Why should men quarrel? is the funkiest number on the album. Although Seek not to know is very melodic it is far from sad. Retir’d from mortals’ sight is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. You have to get essence of the To arms, heroic Prince’s power, to truly understand this masterpiece. O lead me to some peaceful gloom - A nice song. I loved Halcyon days the first time I heard it. Some call Bid the virtues from Songs and Airs as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. Ah! cruel, bloody fate is the more seemingly obscure song on Songs and Airs that bear up best to repeated listening. Songs and Airs couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Thy hand, Belinda… When I am laid in earth.
