On Radio album, Naked City have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Naked City was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Naked City and Radio together. Thom Yorke has compared writing for Naked City’s new album to that on ‘Radio’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. I greatly enjoyed this CD.
Naked City emotions are reflected through Sunset Surfer. Party Girl has a fun tempo. The Outsider - Okay, I just talked about depth. As always, Naked City’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. Terkmani Teepee is one of the coolest songs Naked City has ever recorded. Sex Fiend gives good insight into the truths. The first time I listened to Razorwire I was struck by its excellent sound. The Bitter and The Sweet is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. Naked City has created something that grabs you by the heart and gets you moving. Strong, powerful vocals of Naked City in The Vault are very impressive. Metaltov is nothing but pure genius. I came to like Poisonhead. Bone Orchard is a fine track on any terms. I Die Screaming is a strong cut, one of many. Pistol Whipping is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. Within the first few notes of Skatekey it’s perfectly clear that Naked City is living this song. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Naked City.
