Since completing 1995’s ‘Moslem Satellite Channel’, Muslimgauze fulfilled their contract with Savoy Records and where under no obligation to release another album. It has been four years Muslimgauze’ last studio CD, “Silknoose” which won Array MTV Music Awards and was nominated for album of the year. On the Canada charts, superstar Muslimgauze’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. This is what good Electronic should be.
Simple and heartfelt closing track Gandhi Tentacle Song closes Silknoose on a high note. In Your Arms, Our Opium it becomes nowhere more obvious that Muslimgauze has yet to define own style. Priyanha Tumdesh Chalao is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through Silknoose. The sound of Memsahib Tea Emporium is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Muslimgauze. Quazi Hussain (Re-Prize-Al) - Okay, I just talked about depth. Only one song from Silknoose named Myth And Tyrants really got me. Dish Poison - Muslimgauze first major hit. What sets Azure Taboosh apart is Muslimgauze’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres. In Sheesh Mahal Muslimgauze is at his best. The sound in Amber Lake is really warm and Muslimgauze’s signature voice is still very much present. You have to get essence of the Moslem Satellite Channel’s power, to truly understand this masterpiece. Kalka Male - My least favorite song on this album. This track makes my mind whirl and vibrate with flowing energy.
