twelve years ago, Muslimgauze briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “8am, Tel Aviv, Islamic Jihad”. This nine-song debut EP shows the promise that Muslimgauze has. Muslimgauze was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Muslimgauze and Gun Aramaic together. Oh yes, this album gets Array out of Array
Muslimgauze sings 8am, Tel Aviv, Islamic Jihad in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. Opiate And Mullah is one of these floating songs. Oil Prophets (Pt. 1, 2, 3) is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. 8am, Tel Aviv, Islamic Jihad - Check out that bassline! Lazzaream Ul Lepar is pretty funky and mellow. Oil Prophets (Pt. 4, 5) presents the amazing mix of instruments on Gun Aramaic. Musically Opiate And Mullah is superior to other tracks in Gun Aramaic.
