It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Momus energies, virtually a rebirth. Since Momus last CD (Tender Pervert) on Virgin Records back in 1993, I have felt a massive void in my life. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Momus on ‘Angels Are Voyeurs’. This is what good Indie should be.
Love on Ice is one of these floating songs. I Was a Maoist Intellectual great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool.Voice and instruments in Homosexual complement each other. Bishonen one is one of the better boring ones. Righthand Heart make listening to Momus like being in some sort of time warp. Complete History of Sexual Jealousy (Pts 17-24) which is my favorite is a truly Momus sounding song. Ice King presents the exquisite mix of instruments on Tender Pervert. Some call In the Sanatorium from Tender Pervert as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. You can find feelings on this piece of art. Angels Are Voyeurs (Reprise) is the albums biggest surprise.
