Since completing 1991’s ‘Que Pour Toi’, Mireille Mathieu fulfilled their contract with Mute Records and where under no obligation to release another album. nine years ago, Mireille Mathieu briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “La Musique Du Bonheur”. Carrere isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. I love this album so much, i’ve been crazy about Mireille Mathieu ever.
La Musique Du Bonheur is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. I now have Enfants D’amour Et D’avenir (Vivir De Suenos) as one of my personal favorites. Enfant De L’Irlande (Danny Boy) without a doubt is the standout song of Carrere. Pour La Vie - is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of Mireille Mathieu. L’amour Viendra (My Own True Love) - another great track from the Carrere album. Mes Soirs De Blues actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on Mireille Mathieu’s face. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. Conte De Fees as a highlight of Carrere contains a ton of astounding melodies. Song Comme Si C’etait Ecrit is actually a funny song.
