Since completing 1993’s ‘Tubular Bells (Opening Theme)’, Mike Oldfield fulfilled their contract with Virgin Records and where under no obligation to release another album. Self-described as Electronic with lots of words, Mike Oldfield comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. Since Mike Oldfield last CD (Elements) on Virgin Records back in 1993, I have felt a massive void in my life. I Love Elements from start to finish!
Family Man is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. This track is a killer, it just grabs you instantly. Lyrics of Heaven’s Open are precise and evocative. I listened to the opening track Five Miles Out and liked it a lot. Musically To France is superior to other tracks in Elements. Foreign Affair is possibly the best song Mike Oldfield has come up. This song is very powerful, its catchy melody will have you singing along in no time. Shadow On The Wall rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. Put Islands into car stereo for your highway driving Etude very upbeat. Sentinel - This one makes me want to not only sing along. Ommadawn (Excerpt) - To me, this is the best song on the Elements. Incantations - Part Four (Exce…) is such a marvelous and optimistic song that things can get just better. It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener. Portsmouth I just LOVE this mix!
