When you buy a Michel Huygen album, you know exactly what you’re getting! After debuting at No. 1 last week, Michel Huygen’s album En Busca Del Misterio falls to No. 2 with 283,000, a sales slide of 87%. En Busca Del Misterio isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. En Busca Del Misterio is the best essence of Michel Huygen.
Apertura De Consciencia is a fine track on any terms. No Michel Huygen song has come close to capturing my attention as Tuneles Misteriosos did. Ahus is an underrated song: I like its lyrics and melody a lot. Mas Alla is simple, dignified and effective, Michel Huygen refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. Isla De Pascua is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. Arqueologia Futura the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe. A fantastic track full of wonder. El Ombligo Del Mundo is simply perfect. Music and lyrics of Los Desencarnados creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. I like to sing along with Moais, though I mess up the lyrics sometimes. This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. Atlantis is worth the money. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: En Busca Del Misterio (Theme), which shows, blatantly, how much Michel Huygen has evolved as a singer.
