Since Michael Shrieve last CD (Fascination) on Capitol Records back in 1994, I have felt a massive void in my life. On Fascination album, Michael Shrieve have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Michael Shrieve on ‘Sam The Man’. Fascination is the best essence of Michael Shrieve.
Tell Me Everything (4:10) a good melody. Michael Shrieve sings Circus Circus in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. The Glass Tent is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. Fascination - For me, this is the best of the album. I love the melodic melody of One Nation Invisible and to this day it makes me feel good. All of songs on Fascination and have something to say letting alone The Great Ambassador. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Living With The Law. Jig Saw is almost impossible to review. Soundings In Fathoms is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done.
