This twelve-song debut EP shows the promise that Michael Garrison has. Lead single “Escape” and “Festival Of The Earth-Star” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. It’s natural for Michael Garrison to take a stab at ‘Escape’ considering her long-professed love for Paul Oakenfold. IT makes me wanna dance!
Michael Garrison breathes new life into the music in Festival Of The Earth-Star. Simple and heartfelt closing track Departure closes A Positive Reflecting Glow on a high note. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. Reflections defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is Magnetic Wind. Music in Airborn is astounding as in all tracks of A Positive Reflecting Glow. This track, in particular, has the kind of undeniably catchy flavor. Upon Blue Heaven is nothing but pure genius. Distant Island Stars is a bit different from Michael Garrison stereotypical stuff. Lansdowne Cruise gives taste of what makes Michael Garrison special as a musician.
