After debuting at No. 1 last week, Mark Knopfler and Chet Atkins’s album Neck And Neck falls to No. 2 with 177,000, a sales slide of 86%. Mila Sparrow has compared writing for Mark Knopfler and Chet Atkins’s new album to that on ‘Neck And Neck’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Poor Boy Blues and Sweet Dreams is really good.
Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. There’ll Be Some Changes Made is beautiful, yet underrated track. Just One Time is nothing but pure genius. So Soft, Your Goodbye is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. Yakety Axe is a bit of a show-tune. Tears defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. Tahitian Skies one of the best in my collection. I’ll See You In My Dreams is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. Best song on the album, love it.
