Mark Ford was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Mark Ford and With The Robben Ford Band together. Self-described as Blues with lots of words, Mark Ford comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. This twelve-song debut EP shows the promise that Mark Ford has. Ain’t Got Dough and Fool For Love is really good.
Some call Fool For Love from With The Robben Ford Band as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. Heart Breakin Blues - a classic song. After you’ve listened to Hot Cha Cha, most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. Song Is It Makebelieve? is actually a funny song. Live The Life I Love is a song that will not reduce you to tears but leave you thinking long after With The Robben Ford Band have ended. Mellow Down Easy is a striking and quite long song. What sets My Baby Didn’t Come apart is Mark Ford’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres. In On The Road Again the music gets its power. Music in Up and Out is gorgeous as in all tracks of With The Robben Ford Band. Up From The Streets is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart.
