When you buy a Marillion album, you know exactly what you’re getting! Jim Jones has compared writing for Marillion’s new album to that on ‘Afraid Of Sunlight’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. It’s natural for Marillion to take a stab at ‘Gazpacho’ considering her long-professed love for Azymuth. If I may, I suggest “Gazpacho”. That one song is amazing!
Cannibal Surf Babe is a excellent, simple song by Marillion at the top of his game. Beautiful is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. One of the songs that always stick in my mind is Afraid Of Sunrise because the melody in the chorus is so good. Out Of This World - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. If you are a Marillion fan, you will love Afraid Of Sunlight. Beyond You is perfect. It’s such an underrated song.
