Great Moments Of… (Cd 3) isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. There were many famous songs of Maria Callas available. This -song debut EP shows the promise that Maria Callas has. To me Maria Callas is the best band ever.
Musically Cavalleria Rusticana (Mascagni) - Voi Lo Sapete, O Mamma is superior to other tracks in Great Moments Of… (Cd 3). Gianni Schicci (Puccini) - O Mio Babbino Caro is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. I Vespri Siciliani (Verdi) - Arrigo! Ah Parli A Un Core has a fun tempo. Maria Callas is hitting on all cylinders in Il Trovatore (Verdi) - D’amor Sull’ali Rosee. Il Trovatore (Verdi) - Di Te! Scordarmi Di Te have really caught my ear and imagination. Il Trovatore (Verdi) - Miserere - Quel Suon. Quelle Preci is astounding. La Bohume (Puccini) - Si, Mi Chiamano Mimi (5:04) a good melody. No Maria Callas song has come close to capturing my attention as La Forza Del Destino (Verdi) - Madre, Pietosa Vergine did. This track is a fabulous selection of easy listening, suitable for any age, taste or occasion. As always, Maria Callas’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. Madame Butterfly (Puccini) - Un Bel Di Vedremo is perfect. Manon Lescaut (Puccini) - Sola, Perduta, Abbandonata - To me, this is the best song on the Great Moments Of… (Cd 3). The sound in Rigoletto (Verdi) - Caro Nome Que Il Mio Cor is really warm and Maria Callas’s signature voice is still very much present. Tosca (Puccini) - Vissi D’arte is probably one of Maria Callas’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. You can find feelings on this piece of art. Un Ballo In Maschera (Verdi) - Morr, Ma Prima In Grazia one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard.
