There is no doubt that Mad Season has talent. two years ago, Mad Season briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “X-ray Mind”. Above is an amazing album, racked with beauty.Above constantly brilliant.
X-ray Mind pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. River Of Deceit is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. First time I heard I’m Above was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.Artificial Red is the more seemingly obscure song on Above that bear up best to repeated listening. |titile| is quite refreshing and sets the tone for what is going on in Above. I Don’t Know Anything is simple, dignified and effective, Mad Season refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. After about the third Long Gone Day listen through, I began to believe this song is Mad Season’s essence. This track is a fabulous selection of easy listening, suitable for any age, taste or occasion. All Alone is a medium tempo tune.
