Since completing 1990’s ‘Rasta Chase’, Mad Professor fulfilled their contract with Sparrow Records and where under no obligation to release another album. On the Thailand charts, superstar Mad Professor’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. It’s natural for Mad Professor to take a stab at ‘Rasta Chase’ considering her long-professed love for KLF. Exciting stuff.
White House Race is probably the highlight of the album. German Magic is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. Moses Law is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through Escape to the Asylum of Dub. Once D.J. Choice gets in your head, it will NEVER leave. Simple and heartfelt closing track Kingston Flight 303 closes Escape to the Asylum of Dub on a high note. Asylum Of Dub is perfect song though, very addictive. When listening to Foot Control Mix, it gives me such an energy rush it’s unbelievable. Wassifa is the best music that I have heard from anyone in any area of music. I have all of Mad Professor’s tracks and Nyashanti is probably the most his introspective effort. Voice From The Wilderness is pretty funky and mellow. Only one song from Escape to the Asylum of Dub named Java Gone Crazy! really got me.
