Since Lycia last CD (The Burning Circle and Then Dust) on EMI Records back in 1995, I have felt a massive void in my life. IF YOU LIKE ALL Lycia’S SONG GO FOR IT! For older fans The Burning Circle and Then Dust will put a massive smile accross your face. A Presence In The Woods and Wandering Soul is really good.
Wandering Soul has a fun tempo. The Dust Settles (Part 1) - A strong beat. Sleepless is such a astounding and optimistic song that things can get just better. The Dust Settles (Part 2) is a song to enjoy for years to come. The Return Of Nothing is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: The Dust Settles (Part 3), which shows, blatantly, how much Lycia has evolved as a singer. This track is a killer, it just grabs you instantly. I listened to the opening track The Better Things To Come and liked it a lot. Once On The Horizon gets in your head, it will NEVER leave. One listen to the sheer beauty of Where Has All The Time Gone was all I needed. The opening track Silence and Distance is very much like you would expect from other albums. The song feels complete. Within the first few notes of In The Fire and Flames it’s perfectly clear that Lycia is living this song. This is one hell of a track. Vocals of Lycia in The Last Day really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. Lycia emotions are reflected through August (Part 1). It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. Strong, powerful vocals of Lycia in Nimble are very impressive. August (Part 2) which is my favorite is a truly Lycia sounding song. The Facade Fades is worth the money. Resigned is a bit different from Lycia stereotypical stuff. Surrender is absolutely incredible. These Memories Pass is another favourite of mine. After few listenings I started to like The Burning Circle more and more. Music of The New Day is gentle, never overbearing.
