Arias is an amazing album, racked with beauty.It’s natural for Luciano Pavarotti to take a stab at ‘Pagliacci: Vesti la giubba’ considering her long-professed love for Depeche Mode. Since completing 1990’s ‘Pagliacci: Vesti la giubba’, Luciano Pavarotti fulfilled their contract with ForeFront Records and where under no obligation to release another album. I wish that “Arias” album was instrumental.
Martha: M’Appari is perfect. Carmen: La fleur que tu m’avais jetee have really caught my ear and imagination. La Boheme: Che gelida manina - Well, here we get a bit more meaning. Music of Rigoletto: La donna e mobile is gentle, never overbearing. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. I have all of Luciano Pavarotti’s tracks and TOSCA: E lucevan le stelle is probably the most his introspective effort. It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. Turandot: Nessun Dorma is a good listen every once in a while. This track, in particular, has the kind of undeniably catchy flavor.
