More Love Songs isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Loudon Wainwright III on ‘Hard Day On The Planet’. After seeing Hard Day On The Planet, I had to have a good Loudon Wainwright III cd. I Love More Love Songs from start to finish!
This track is just a stunning masterpiece. Loudon Wainwright III is one of artists that allow his songs like Your Mother And I to stand on their own and be heard. One of the songs that always stick in my mind is I Eat Out because the melody in the chorus is so good. No the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe. This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. The Acid Song is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything Loudon Wainwright III released so far. Unhappy Anniversary - Check out that bassline! Man’s World is marvelous work of Loudon Wainwright III. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on More Love Songs. Overseas Call is really the reason why I recommend buying More Love Songs. Once you hear Expatriate, you will listen to it over and over. I like The Back Nine because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming.
