Since Loudon Wainwright III last CD (Grown Man) on EMI Records back in 1995, I have felt a massive void in my life. It’s natural for Loudon Wainwright III to take a stab at ‘1994′ considering her long-professed love for Godless Cruelty. Loudon Wainwright III had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. If you love Loudon Wainwright III as much as I do, then Loudon Wainwright III Grown Man is the CD for you!
The Birthday Present - This one makes me want to not only sing along. Cobwebs is pretty funky and mellow. In Dreading the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. You can find feelings on this piece of art. Father/Doaughter Dialogue one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. Grown Man (3:52) - awsome. Housework - This happy song is an ode to optimism and an anthem. Nice and different song. I Suppose defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. This song is dynamic and dramatic. Just A John gets you up and jumping. That Hospital is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. Treasure Untold is simple, dignified and effective, Loudon Wainwright III refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. This song is very powerful, its catchy melody will have you singing along in no time.
