On The Mirror Pool album, Lisa Gerrard have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. The Mirror Pool carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. On the Thailand charts, superstar Lisa Gerrard’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. If I may, I suggest “Violina (The Last Embrace)”. That one song is amazing!
La Bas (Song Of The Drowned) is a striking and quite long song. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. Sanvean (I Am Your Shadow) - A classic Lisa Gerrard track. I love the melodic melody of The Rite and to this day it makes me feel good. Ajhon is a song that takes you on the journey before it reaches the conclusion. Only one song from The Mirror Pool named Glorafin really got me. Majhnavea’s Music Box is a medium tempo tune. Largo is gorgeous song though, very addictive. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is Werd. Laurelei pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. Celon is astounding. Venteles has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Lisa Gerrard’s strong vocals come to the fore. Voice of Lisa Gerrard in Swans is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. I like the idea behind Nilleshna. It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener.
