Thom Yorke has compared writing for Legendary Pink Dots’s new album to that on ‘The Crushed Velvet Apocalypse’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Since completing 1990’s ‘I love you in your tragic beauty’, Legendary Pink Dots fulfilled their contract with Capitol Records and where under no obligation to release another album. Overall, I would highly recommend The Crushed Velvet Apocalypse CD.
Green Gang - A nice song. Hellsville stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. I hope to keep hearing Legendary Pink Dots works for a long time to come. This track makes my mind whirl and vibrate with flowing energy. In Just a lifetime it becomes nowhere more obvious that Legendary Pink Dots has yet to define own style. Legendary Pink Dots sings The death of Jack the Ripper in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. New tomorrow - Well, here we get a bit more meaning. Still going through The Crushed Velvet Apocalypse and coming to appreciate Princess Coldheart more and more with every listen. The Pleasure Palace is a song that takes you on the journey before it reaches the conclusion. I like the idea behind The Collector. I was truly moved when I heard C.V.A.
