This is one of the best Cd’s Karl Denson and Andy Bey has dropped to date. The D Stands for Diesel carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. I am not a real funk music type of person, but i have to admit ‘The D Stands for Diesel’ really is amazing. This album is in perfect progression from Karl Denson and Andy Bey!
Bougainvillea - a classic song. In The Grind the music gets its power. Sunday School is one of these floating songs. I’ve found myself listening to Russian Qualude back to back and back many times. Jam Sandwich is a song that will not reduce you to tears but leave you thinking long after The D Stands for Diesel have ended. The Grind: Reprise is simply gorgeous. Steamed Water is beautiful, yet underrated track. Tune-Up is absolutely incredible.
