This nine-song debut EP shows the promise that Jorge REYES has. Jorge REYES’s debut, ‘Ek-Tunkul’, does not fit easily into one genre. There is no doubt that Jorge REYES has talent. This album is in perfect progression from Jorge REYES!
Some of the arrangements found on Ek-Tunkul are surprisingly edgy. In Nadie Supo De Donde Venia the music gets its power. Ek-Tunkul stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. In La Casa Oscura you won’t find any flashy solos. En El Fondo Del Barranco Hay Un Cangrejo (parte I) still maintains something of a specific flourish. En El Fondo Del Barranco Hay Un Cangrejo (parte II) has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. I now have Corazon De Venado as one of my personal favorites.
