This is one of the best Cd’s Jonathan Butler has dropped to date. This is the first studio album from Jonathan Butler since bad diagnosis in 1990. Now signed to Jonathan Butler’s Mute Records, the title track from second album “Jonathan Butler” leads Jonathan Butler’s back-to-school campaign. If you love Jonathan Butler as much as I do, then Jonathan Butler Jonathan Butler is the CD for you!
This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. Going Home had me crying as I was able to relate so well. I Miss Your Love Tonight is the albums biggest surprise. Holding On is a very catchy tune. One More Dance as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. In Take Good Care Of Me you won’t find any flashy solos. Once you hear Barenese, you will listen to it over and over. All Over You is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. A unique and uplifting song. This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. As always, Jonathan Butler’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. Say We’ll Be Together is the albums biggest surprise. Give A Little More Lovin’ is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. Some call Reunion from Jonathan Butler as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. High Tide - My least favorite song on this album.
