For older fans The Standing Stones of Callanish will put a massive smile accross your face. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Jon Mark on ‘Chloe’s Day’. Jon Mark’s debut, ‘The Standing Stones of Callanish’, does not fit easily into one genre. Jon Mark is one of my favourite bands of all time.
Blessed Land is outstanding work of Jon Mark. The Eye Of The Hawk has a fun tempo. First time I heard Mist On The Morning Hills was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing. From the moment you listen to The Standing Stones Of Callanish you’re hooked. The Raven In The Oak Tree is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. I was truly moved when I heard The Stag, The Running Stream and The Greenwood. This track is a great song that still never gets old. Autumn Leaves Fall, One By One - arguably the best track on The Standing Stones of Callanish album. |titile| is quite refreshing and sets the tone for what is going on in The Standing Stones of Callanish. It took me a little time but I ended up loving The Leaving. This song may be the most meaningful. I can’t stop humming along Journey Across The Crystal Sea. Remembering make listening to Jon Mark like being in some sort of time warp.
