John Scofield was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from John Scofield and Hand Jive together. Since John Scofield last CD (Hand Jive) on Mute Records back in 1994, I have felt a massive void in my life. On Hand Jive album, John Scofield have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Overall, I would highly recommend Hand Jive CD.
John Scofield allows each song to breathe and flourish. Do Like Eddie is absolutely incredible. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is She’s So Lucky. Checkered Past - Check out that bassline! All of songs on Hand Jive and have something to say letting alone 7th Floor. Golden Daze catches attention immediately, I hope to keep hearing John Scofield works for a long time to come. Whip The Mule is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. Out Of The City is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction.
